COVID-19 NEWS: Once businesses resume, Westerly Education Center, and partner RIC's The Hub in Central Falls, will again offer job training and higher ed courses to get Rhode Islanders skilled for work. Expected courses will be: process technology; customer service, banking & sales/call center training; teacher assistant, water treatment & distribution operators levels 1 and 2; certified nursing assistant ; pharmacy technician; OSHA 10; grant writing and more. Westerly Education Center brings together higher education, business, industry, and community partners to provide high-quality educational programs to meet projected workforce growth in the region.
We deliver workforce training courses that meet projected job growth in the region. All RI public higher education institutions (URI, CCRI and RIC), Office of the Postsecondary Commissioner, and RI Department of Labor & Training are partners..
The center is available for any business wishing to rent classrooms or the multi-use room for training sessions, meetings, webinars and more. If desired, businesses can opt to engage with the center’s higher education partners to develop customized courses. Whether training new hires or offering professional development for current staff, the center is ideal for off-site programming.
