    The Opportunity
    The RI Broadcasters Association, (RIBA) a non-profit 501C6 seeks a President to promote the future of the broadcast industry.  This position is primarily remote, reporting to the Board of Directors comprised of local television and radio station Media Presidents, Market Managers and General Managers.
     
    The President works independently on projects to enhance our communities by educating and supporting for the health and safety of viewers and listeners.  They will be responsible for initiatives focused on anticipating and responding to concerns facing Rhode Island’s state agencies, leaders, community organizers and non-profit organizations. The President is the primary advocate for RIBA locally and the Congressional delegation in Washington DC.
     
    Some of the key responsibilities include: responding to member needs, meeting with members at their stations, financial management, revenue generation, managing and implementing new campaigns, preparing contracts, traffic coordination and RIBA cancellation system management, maintenance of the RIBA website and social media platforms, event planning and preparing for and attending board meetings and ensuring ongoing, regular communications with the BOD. The President represents RIBA externally and supports community non-profit, state and local agencies; they attend agency committee meetings and keep apprised of changes and priorities at the national broadcasting organizations. The President manages the annual scholarship program for students interested in a career in broadcasting.
     
    Professional Experience and Qualifications
    Our ideal candidate is a multi-skilled professional with top notch communication and organization skills. They must be detail oriented and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. Experience and/or education in public relations, broadcasting (radio or television), journalism, fundraising or nonprofit management is required. The President should have strong skills in Microsoft Office and a solid knowledge of cloud based environments, conferencing platforms (Zoom / Teams) and website editing.  An understanding of basic IT functionality is an asset.
