    The Rhode Island College Foundation is an independent organization dedicated to raising funds for the College. The Foundation has over $38 million in net assets, and raised over $1.6 million in 2022 through pledges, gifts, grants, and special events revenue. The Foundation also provided over $1.6 million to the school last year in direct support for scholarship, faculty & student research, and capital improvements. More than 490 students received $600,000 in scholarships. In addition, the Foundation’s annual giving day raised over $860,000 dollars with donations received from $1,350 individuals and over 50 organizations.

    Ensure financial integrity and responsible accounting, auditing and other fiscal procedures are performed for the Rhode Island College Foundation. Responsible for the fiscal administration of endowments, gifts, grants and scholarships, accounts payable, budgetary accounting and preparation. Assist in the development of the annual budget and communications to the members of the Rhode Island College Foundation Board of Directors.

     

    Accounting-related Role
    • Serve in a principal role in the preparation of interim and annual comprehensive financial statements of the Rhode Island College Foundation and Alumni Association.
    • Ensure preparation and delivery of monthly accounting, income statements and balance sheets; maintenance of appropriation and other subsidiary ledgers and determination of proper classification of funds and accounts for posting therein and reconciliations.
    • Facilitate annual Foundation fiscal year audit in conjunction with a third-party external auditing firm as well as compilation for RIC Alumni Association.
    Financial Reporting Role
    • Provide financial reporting support to the Executive Directors, the Alumni Association and Rhode Island College Foundation Board of Directors and Foundation Investment and Finance Committees.
    • Assist with the publishing of the annual report of gifts and production of digital and hard materials used for donor recognition and reporting.
    • Assist with stewardship reports to major donors.
    Support Staff and Managerial Role
    • Supervise professional staff.
    • Assume responsibility for related activities assigned by the Executive Director of the Rhode Island College Foundation.
    • Work occasional non-standard hours to meet with donors and volunteers at special events.
