  • BankFive Announces New Member of the Commercial Lending Team

BankFive announced today the addition of John Decker as Vice-President and the newest member of its Commercial Lending Team.

John brings more than three decades of banking experience to BankFive, most recently serving as Vice-President and Commercial Loan Officer at Bluestone Bank of Bridgewater, MA. John is a well-known and highly respected member of the commercial lending market segment and is also known for his commitment to his community and local small businesses.

That experience and local orientation will complement BankFive’s commitment to support local businesses as the region’s leading community-oriented bank. Delivering highly personalized service designed to meet the needs of business customers will be at the core of John’s responsibilities.

Paul Medeiros, Senior Vice President, Director of Commercial Lending, notes that team members like John are at the heart of fulfilling BankFive’s mission. He states, “We have developed a comprehensive approach to suit business customer needs from Express5 loans, SBA lending, Business Energy loans, real estate and capital loans, and most recently our extensive Covid-19 relief initiatives. These programs work because of the passion and capabilities of our team. We are confident that John shares that passion and will be an important asset to the businesses in our community;”

BankFive is known for making easy access to lending a priority, as is shown in its Express5 business loan concept. This program requires minimal documentation and provides quick closings for BankFive customers. A similar philosophy makes SBA lending more accessible to more businesses, and customers have the opportunity to take advantage of a range of other lending options, including loans for working lines of credit, equipment, and other business needs.

As a graduate of Syracuse University, John has a deep and life-long appreciation for this region and its unique opportunities and needs. His extensive lending experience is married to completion of additional industry education, including the Risk Management Associates Loan Officer Resident Seminar and the OMEGA Commercial Lending Symposium. John’s community involvement includes serving as a board member of Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, and working with numerous local organizations such as the YMCA, United Way, and the Bridgewater Business Association.

Anne P. Tangen, President and CEO, adds, “John represents the type of caring professional that we seek to support our growth. It is individuals like him that undergird our unrelenting investment in serving our current and prospective clients. These are challenging times for our local businesses, and their survival and success is important to all of us. John is joining a dedicated team that has worked relentlessly to shepherd many of our clients through the challenges presented by Covid-19 and supply chain issues. We look forward to his role in helping us to continue to make this contribution.”
