    Overview:
     
    The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce is looking for a business development professional to serve as Director of Member Engagement.
     
    Reporting to the President, the Director of Member Engagement will build and cultivate a strong membership base by interacting with current members to maximize their membership investment and connecting them with the people, resources and activities that will accelerate their professional goals.
     
    In addition, the role will identify new like-minded members who would find value in being part of Rhode Island’s largest private-sector business advocacy and membership organization.
     
    As one of Rhode Island’s most visible organizations, the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce is committed to being a positive force in the overall economic development of Rhode Island. By using the collective power of our business, civic and not-for-profit members, the GPCC is a leader in promoting economic opportunity and community betterment.
     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Actively build and manage a portfolio of select members who believe in the power of a strong and civically responsible business community; 
    • Deliver and satisfy each member’s unique business objectives through relationships, sponsorships, brand awareness campaigns and other proprietary tools belonging to the GPCC; 
    • Organize networking events; imagine new and creative formats 
    • Proactively connect members digitally and in-real-life for the purposes of building trusted and targeted business relationships;

    Relevant experience and mindset: 

    • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent work experience with knowledge of  business development, sales, marketing, customer service, member relations and/or sponsored events;
    • Proven history of exceeding financial goals and thriving in an incentive-based environment;
    • Skilled in pipeline and relationship building;
    • Strong verbal/written communication competencies with the ability to show the value of membership
    • Self-directed, organized, and familiar with the language of business.


    This position is “hybrid eligible.”
