  • Office Support Specialist

    Rhode Island College invites applicants for the position of Office Support Specialist. This is a full-time, calendar year, continuing position.

    The individual will provide clerical and customer support to the Sherlock Center’s programs and projects related to events, products, record keeping, and information dissemination.

    The Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities at Rhode Island College invites applications for a Office Support Specialist, Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities. The Office Support Specialist will provide clerical and administrative support to Sherlock Center initiatives. The Paul V. Sherlock Center on Disabilities, founded at Rhode Island College in 1993, is a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). UCEDDs are evidence driven and designed to advance policies, practices and research that improve the health, education, social and economic well-being of people with disabilities, their families, and their communities. The mission of the Sherlock Center is to promote membership of individuals with disabilities in school, work and the community.

    Required qualifications:          

    •  Associate’s degree in a related field.                                                                                                                     
    • Two years of related experience                                                                                                                
    • Competence using a variety of desktop and online software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs.)
    • Ability to perform clerical responsibilities, process requests, and enter data with accuracy.   
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written

    Preferred qualifications:             
    • Bachelor’s degree in field related to office administration, business administration, or human services.              
    • 3+ years of related experience                                                                                                                       
    • 1+ years of experience in customer service                                                                                                           
    • Lived or professional experience in disability.                                                                                             
    • Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese
