Chamber President Laurie White recently spoke with Elizabeth Tanner, Esq. Rhode Island's new Secretary of Commerce. Tanner has served as the Director of the Department of Business Regulation (DBR) since 2017.

Laurie and Liz discussed her new role, top priorities for the Department of Commerce, workforce training, labor force issues, local supply chains, federal funding for small businesses, the redevelopment of the Superman Building in Providence, the state's blue economy and other critical business issues.

Before joining DBR, Tanner was the Executive Vice President of Client Services at Rhode Island Commerce Corporation, where she provided small businesses with counseling, resources and incentive products to enhance a customer-centric government.
