Problem Solvers become Decision Makers become Leaders
This step by step personnel development is immeasurable in value for individuals, organizations, and customers.
Knowledge and leadership is not to be gained by studying rules, formulas, or ‘normal schemes,’ but by the practice in solving problems. A problem solving process in support of an organization’s Essential Task (What we do) and its Purpose (Why we do it) is paramount to its success. This also reflects a business’ Mission Statement.
A recommended solution with conditions set for a decision.
Decision Making is discussed as an ‘art’ or a ‘science’. The answer is ‘yes’: it is both. Decision making’s science is the process used to create the decision making opportunity and the art is the experience of decision making.
Leadership Applied’s
ESI(‘easy’) Mission development asks “What do we do?’ (Tasks) and “Why do we do it?” (Purpose). Decisions are the means by which one translates vision of the end state into action:
Decision-making is knowing if to decide, then when & what to decide.
Leaders make decisions. However, leaders are also great problem solvers. A leader’s success as a problem solver and decision maker is practiced and learned.
