Expert-Curated Online Resource for Rhode Island Seniors, Caregivers and Professionals awarded $2,000 at Social Enterprise Greenhouse Health & Wellness Accelerator Pitch Event
Deborah Burton, founder of Aging Easily, LLC, and creator of RIElderInfo.com, an innovative online tool for senior care resources, was awarded a $2,000 Award sponsored by Delta Dental of RI at the Social Enterprise Greenhouse (SEG) Health and Wellness Accelerator Pitch Event on December 6. Deborah Burton is a gerontologist with over 30 years of experience helping Rhode Islanders navigate the healthcare system. Burton participated in SEG’s 2018 Health and Wellness Accelerator, a three month intensive business development program, to scale her business which aims to enable seniors to age safely at home and within the community of those that they love and care for. The SEG Accelerator award is given to high potential social entrepreneurs that achieve significant milestones during the program and that demonstrate leadership in supporting fellow entrepreneurs in the program.
Aging Easily LLC launched RIElderInfo.com, the only expert-curated online resource for Rhode Island Seniors, Caregivers and Professionals. The site is tailored to the user and features specific resources for all 39 cities and towns and can be searched by topic. There is an Event Calendar of fun, educational or interesting things to do for Seniors and Caregivers–because aging isn’t just flu shots and Bingo! The Event Calendar for Professionals contains educational opportunities as well as opportunities to expand professional networks.
The $2,000 award will be used to increase visibility of the RI Elder Info website to engage the more than 350,000 Seniors, Caregivers and Aging Professionals in Rhode Island with particular emphasis on underserved communities.
