  • Richard Bernardo Joins BETA Group, Inc. as Vice President

    BETA Group, Inc. is pleased to welcome Richard A. Bernardo, PE as a Vice President within BETA’s corporate headquarters in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Richard joins BETA with four decades of experience in the engineering industry. His executive background spans both the private and public sectors. As the Rhode Island Department of Transportation’s Manager of In-House Design Engineering, he oversaw the administration and operation for in-house design and survey. Richard previously served as the Director of Public Works in both the City of Cranston, RI as well as the Town of Burrillville, RI. He holds Professional Engineering licenses in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Maine.
    “The addition of Richard not only strengthens our firm in the near term but also further solidifies our sustainability moving forward,” said BETA’s President and CEO Frank Romeo.
    Richard is a graduate of Roger Williams University and an Adjunct Professor at the New England Institute of Technology. Richard is a member of the American Public Works Association (APWA) and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); a Life Member of the Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers; and a Past President of the Providence Engineering Society and the Rhode Island Society of Professional Engineers (RISPE). He served as the governor-appointed Vice Chairman of the Rhode Island Board of Registration for ten years and is a member of the City of Warwick Growth Management Council.
