Providence Promise Appoints Madalyn Ciampi Executive Director
The Board of Directors of Providence Promise, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Providence parents fulfill the educational aspirations of their children, announced today that Madalyn Ciampi has been appointed Executive Director. Madalyn has been with the organization since its founding four years ago, and has most recently served as the Chief of Operations. Ms. Ciampi has a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from Providence College and a Master of Arts in Urban Education Policy from Brown University. In addition to her duties at Providence Promise, she serves as a Community Advisory Board member for the Providence Public Schools and is a member of Parents Leading for Educational Equity.
“She is a great leader who is passionate and committed to a better educational and economic future for Providence families and their children,” said Dan Baudouin, Providence Promise Board Chair. “The Board is very pleased that Madalyn has accepted the position.”
Richard Lappin, the Founder and a Board Member of Providence Promise added, “Madalyn started as an intern with Providence Promise while earning her degree at Brown and has been the backbone of Providence Promise since coming on board in January 2017. No one is more committed and capable. Providence Promise, it’s families, students, and staff are very fortunate to have her as its new Executive Director and leader.”
An important component of Madalyn’s work has been building relationships with Providence Promise’s participating families. Christine Davis, a parent of four Providence Promise students who has worked closely with Madalyn since joining the program in 2018 said, “I am so proud. Her hard work and dedication to the Providence Promise program has not gone unnoticed. Her
support and advocacy for families and students in the community for education and college enrollment have shown us her leadership. Today, for her, I am so grateful and I cannot be more proud. It is because of people like her doing wonderful things and being a remarkable human being that opportunities and dreams are possible.”
“I am honored and excited to serve Providence Promise as the organization's Executive Director. When I came on board nearly four years ago, I knew that the program's mission and vision were important to the families and the community in Providence. Having the opportunity to grow alongside Providence Promise has been transformational, and truly a gift,” said Madalyn Ciampi. “I look forward to working alongside my team, our participants, and our community as our organization continues to flourish and serve our families and children here in Providence.”
