  • Delta Dental of RI Provides $1M in Support to Local Dental Offices

Delta Dental of Rhode Island provides $1 million in financial support to its Rhode Island participating dental offices

As dental offices across Rhode Island prepare to re-open their offices to patients for non-emergency services in accordance with the State’s guidelines, Delta Dental of Rhode Island has announced that it is providing $1 million in financial support to help participating dental practices meet the unforeseen expense of acquiring personal protective equipment (PPE). The amount of support is based on Delta Dental patient volume in each practice.

“We recognize that dentists are working through challenges in ensuring safety for both patients and staff,” said Delta Dental President and CEO Joseph R. Perroni. “This financial support to help offset the cost of PPE is another way we can assist dentists who provide valuable oral health care to enrolled members of our client accounts.”

This additional $1 million in financial support is an expansion of Delta Dental’s provider relief efforts. To date, these efforts have included an Advance Claims Payment Program (ACPP) for its participating dentists, making more than $4 million of financial relief available to network dentists impacted by economic disruptions related to COVID-19. In addition, Delta Dental created a reimbursement program for dentists who donated their own PPE to the Rhode Island Department of Health for health care workers across the state.
