Providence Journal: CVS to hire 50,000 to meet demand during virus pandemic

CVS Health announced on Monday that it is awarding bonuses to employees who are required to be at the company’s stores and centers to assist customers and patients in the coronavirus pandemic.
The company is also embarking on an unprecedented program to fill 50,000 full-time, part-time and temporary jobs.
“Our colleagues have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to providing essential goods and services at a time when they’re needed most,” said president and CEO Larry J. Merlo in a media release. “As they continue to be there for the individuals and families we serve, we’re taking extra steps to provide some peace of mind and help them navigate these uncertain times.”
