Lavender Waves Farm is excited to announce four additional “Cut Your Own Lavender” event dates for 2020. The event that is scheduled for June 27th has been sold out, and the farm has now added July 11th, July 18th, August 1st and August 22nd.
Lavender Waves Farm is located at 3814 Commodore Perry Highway in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. The farm has been in operation since 2018 and has approximately 4,000 lavender plants from 10 varieties that have been planted in a circle around a custom-built gazebo. There is an array of unique animals including llama, alpaca, donkey, and sheep. In addition to these animals there are approximately 40 exotic poultry including a white peacock.
The farm is not regularly open to the public. The only way to visit is by attending one of their hosted events. You can also host one of your own events such as a wedding, elopement or private celebration. Elopement packages start at $400 and include property rental, chair rental, and an officiant. A luxury Farm Suite can also be reserved through Airbnb. Lavender themed items can be purchased at the farm’s hosted events or by contacting the owner, Henry Cabrera through the farm’s website.
Each year the lavender plants become more robust. This is the first year the farm has decided to host events. “Due to COVID-19, many people are eager to get outside and do something exciting,” said owner Henry Cabrera. “The Pick Your Own Lavender event is perfect for this.”
To align with the COVID-19 health standards from the CDC as well as the state of Rhode Island, the farm is only allowing 50 people to pick lavender at a time. Attendees will be required to wear masks and maintain social distancing standards. There will be four time slots on each event date and all attendees must register and have a ticket to enter. No walk-ins will be allowed. Tickets can be purchased at www.lavenderwavesfarm.com.
