  • Centreville Bank Opens New Branch Office | Cranston | Names Carol Ulak Branch Mgr.

Centreville Bank President, CEO and Chairman of the Board Harold M. Horvat announced today the opening of a new office located at 56 Rolfe Square, Cranston. The new branch employs a staff of four and is managed by Carol H. Ulak, a 25-year veteran in retail banking.

The Rolfe Square branch is located between Pontiac Avenue and Park Avenue and makes it the bank’s second location in the city of Cranston (the office at 193 Comstock Parkway was opened in 2000). This brings the total number of Centreville Bank’s Rhode Island offices to ten.

“Our goal is to be the first-choice, community bank option for Rhode Islanders and improving access ─ both in person and online ─ to our financial products and services is a key part of that aspiration,” said Horvat.  “Our new Rolfe Square branch is conveniently located for folks on the east side of Cranston as well as those in neighboring Warwick, and with our existing branch in western Cranston, this helps us serve the entire city.”

The bank has adopted a “universal banker,” customer-service model that enables all office staff members to seamlessly handle any banking need. The new, 2,300 square foot Rolfe Square office is designed to complement that approach and features interactive teller machines (ITMs) that offer walk up and drive-up access, as well as ample parking in a lot adjacent to the building. Due to current pandemic restrictions, in-person visits currently are available by appointment only.

As branch manager, Ulak is responsible for new business development and overall direction of the branch, overseeing branch operations and customer service, working to build rapport within the community, and ensuring the branch meets designated goals and objectives.

Ulak has 25 years of experience working at banks and credit unions throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts, holding a variety of positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, she managed the Sales and Experience departments for People’s Credit Union. Prior to that she worked at Webster Bank, Mechanics Cooperative Bank, Citizens Bank and Sovereign Bank (now Santander).

“Carol has amassed a great deal of industry knowledge and worked in a myriad of capacities at a number of community, regional, and national banks. Her experience ranges from operations and compliance, to sales and employee training – all of which are important assets for us at Centreville Bank,” said Horvat.

Ulak attended Bristol Community College, Bridgewater State College, and the New England Banking Institute where she studied Business Management. She holds a certificate in Business from Moody’s Analytics. Ulak resides in North Dighton, MA.
