Building a Resilient Business: The Importance of Cyber Security - 2/27/19January 22, 2019What is Cybersecurity? If you don’t know, you should; if you do, chances are you still need some clarification on how it affects your business.
Kettle is hosting an event at the Chamber on February 27 from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. to help demystify the topic of Cyber Security. We will discuss the framework for understanding and assessing Cyber Security, who is at risk, and share how to mitigate business threats.
In the Western world we tend to be reactive and not proactive. As humans we prefer not to learn about things that can potentially be negative or harmful. These common practices devastate operations and leave businesses vulnerable in the world of technology that will ultimately make or break their longevity and continued success.
Kettle wants to provide the industries in Rhode Island with tools to evade Cyber Security incidents, breaches and build resilient businesses. We believe Rhode Island is capable of being a leader in Cyber Excellence and it all begins with our local commerce.
Specifically, we will discuss the following:
- Understand the Signal versus the Noise – Know the regulatory and threat landscape
- Prevent Common Attacks – Identify and stop high volume attacks such as ransomware, social engineering, MS Office macros, supply chain management, and password management
- Establish Proactive Security – Integrate security into your culture and market it as a competitive advantage
