    Job Description

    The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) is Rhode Island’s largest private sector business and membership organization. We are the hub of connections for businesses of all sizes, in all industries and in all sectors.

    As the advocate for growing and protecting the business community in Rhode Island, a central element of our body of work is economic development. The GPCC seeks to foster positive relations on behalf of the business community with federal, state and local entities and to champion policies that produce an attractive environment for private enterprise to flourish.

    In addition to advocacy, the GPCC connects business professionals with peers who can provide real-time, actionable advice to help with such significant issues as: new business development, managing growth, finding talent, and innovating through the use of technology.

    Job Title: Member Experience Coordinator

    The primary role of the Member Experience Coordinator is to produce a strong and engaged membership base by providing concierge-style business support services to our members and delivering real value that they can’t imagine living without. We’re looking for a collaborative and curious individual who genuinely enjoys making desired connections between and among existing members. The successful candidate will also be eager to recruit new members into Rhode Island’s most exciting business advocacy organization.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Possess an ability to dig deep to discover the key motivations driving each member’s membership in the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce;
    • Design and constantly refine a well-functioning journey map of key member interactions; own it and be able to measure outcomes;
    • Recruit new members and identify ways to quickly acclimate and integrate them into the organization;
    • Identify ways to anticipate member needs by providing unique moments that go above and beyond expectations;
    • Take part in the creation of memorable events produced by the Chamber to add another dimension to the members’ experience;
    • Help members solve diverse, complex and routine business challenges by pointing them in the right direction and connecting them with fellow members who can assist;
    • Support members to do their best work, achieve their hopes for success and help fellow members do the same
    • Work collaboratively with our team to understand how other elements of the Chamber’s work might be relevant to each member’s business success goals;
    • Recommend ways to improve our internal membership delivery systems;
    Relevant experience and mindset:
    • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience or the equivalent in general business, customer service, hospitality or related field.
    • Strong verbal/written communication skills.
    • Self-directed, flexible and embraces ambiguity.
    • An ability to approach problems and solutions in an optimistic manner.
    • Customer service attitude and an inclination toward accountability and execution.
    • Competent in data base management tools and social media platforms.
