    Providence Journal Economic Scorecard: R.I. Ends 2018 on a Prosperous Note

    While politicians debated last fall whether Rhode Island’s economy was humming on all cylinders or simply sputtering along, things were just fine, according to the Providence Journal Economic Scorecard.

    For the final three months of 2018, the scorecard, which assesses 11 key economic indicators, rated the state’s economy at 9, the same score as the previous three-month period.

    The score of 9, on a scale from -11 to 11, is the highest score in the last 10 years, the period of time for which The Journal has calculated a scorecard.
