Providence Earns Spot on America's Favorite Cities Survey
Travel & Leisure magazine's new
2009 America's Favorite Cities survey shows there are a lot of good things happening in Providence! The city's high ranking reflects the efforts made to grow tourism in the continuing effort to protect and add jobs here. The survey ranked 30 top U.S. cities on culture, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, quality of life, affordability and more.
Rhode Island's Capital City ranked 6th in the nation in the “food and dining” category, with high marks for ethnic food, cafes and coffee bars and farmers markets, 8th overall in the U.S. for culture, including 4th for theater and 12th for museums and galleries.
